Dear John,
That little cutester in the picture is Poppy, the newest member of the Collier clan. She’s Old English Sheep dog mixed with Poodle. Don’t let that face you could kiss for days fool you, though, as we’ve discovered she must have a strong strain of Tasmanian Devil in there too, the way she charges around the house, yipping and zooming.
And ol’ Gus, your longtime friend, he’s been the sole dog of the house for 5 years. He’d mostly worked things out so he was running the joint, and he’s currently embroiled in a dispute with management regarding the disruption to his living situation. The first afternoon we had Poppy, I went over to Gus to give him a rub. He looked at me sideways, turned, and offered me his rump as he walked away.
You know the year we’ve had. Adding a puppy into the mix seems about as smart as sticking a screwdriver into a live outlet. But Miska’s the most dog-loving person I’ve ever known. The pictures of her as a little girl with her St. Bernard will melt your …
